Smonday...the Sunday Scaries!

Did You Experience Scary Sundays as a Child?

It tends to follow us into adulthood, and as the weekend winds down and the start of a new week looms, many people experience what's commonly known as the "Sunday Scaries."

Feeling anxiety or stress is natural, but enjoying the rest of your weekend can be challenging and even impact your motivation when you return to work on Monday.

If you're someone who experiences the Sunday Scaries, you're not ALONE.

So why do we get the Sunday Scaries?

There are a few reasons...

🥹 you feel unfulfilled or dissatisfied with your current job or career path
🥹 you feel as if you can't show up as yourself professionally, and it's a struggle
🥹 the thought of your schedule for the week is overwhelming
🥹 stressed and burned out from work with an unhealthy life balance

Anxiety, overwhelm, and exhaustion can exacerbate these feelings, and it feels worse.

Here are THREE TIPS to manage how you are feeling...

➡️ Plan: Take some time on Sunday afternoon or evening to plan out your schedule for the coming week. It can help you feel more organized and in control, which can reduce feelings of anxiety. Remember to include breaks and pencil in time for yourself to reconnect with nature to go outside and soak in sunlight for 10-15 minutes daily. (it will make all the difference!)

➡️ Practice self-care: Make sure to take care of yourself over the weekend. Get enough rest, body movement, hydration, and healthy meals. Taking care of your mind & body can help you feel more resilient in the face of stress.

➡️ Be mindful: Try to stay present and in the moment. Schedule time alone, take a scenic drive by yourself, or engage in an activity you enjoy, and take some time to relax and unwind.

One size doesn't fit all...find what works for you. You will be surprised how implementing one tip NOW can help with the Sunday Scaries.

You deserve to enjoy your weekend and walk into the new week fresh without anxiety.
